The launch of PlayStation 5 is just around the corner. We have all the information you need about the technical specifications including the CPU and GPU, the design of the console and its size, the new DualSense controller and of course all the PlayStation 5 games confirmed to date, including the PS4 backward compatible ones. Let's dive right into flour: here's what we know about the PS5's technical specs after its initial reveal

PS5 Specifications


CPU - the CPU is based on the third generation of Ryzen processors; eight Zen 2 cores at 7nm.

GPU and ray tracing - the GPU is based on the Navi architecture and its main novelty is the implementation of real-time raytracing (you have more details in the Digital Foundry analysis).

Sound - PS5 will feature a 3D sound processor that Mark Cerny says will be "dramatically different" from the PS4.

Storage - PS5 will include an SSD (Solid State Hard Drive) that will use the new PCIe 4.0 standard. Cerny tested Marvel's Spider-Man on a current PS4 Pro and the so-called PS5: the former took 15 seconds to load a fast trip; the second, 0.8 seconds.

Resolution - PS5 will be compatible with 8K, and it is supposed to include native 4K.

There will be a 4K Blu-Ray player available that will be able to read optical discs up to 100GB.
